Why Have Men's Swim Suits Become Less Revealing Over Time?
They typical men's bathing suit in the 1950s looked like pair of men's boxer shorts. Modern men's bathing suits pretty much go down to the knee like they did in the 1910s. Women's bathing suits, on the other hand, are a whole lot skimpier than they were in the 1950s. Why the reverse trend?

styles change and perceptions change. Surfer shorts and long boxers have simply replaced the regular shorts. My man still wears speedos on vacation (and yes he looks great in them). While women’s bikini show every line and nipple, his nylon speedos show all of his large friend. I like the look and apparently so do the women who stare at the beach.
society has changed. :/
in europe they still wear speedos, though..bleh!
Because men are more conservative, and most aren’t that good-looking, so it’s for the best!!
And women nowadays wanna get attention by looking like whores. I blame tv and advertisements for that.
First off, have you turned on your tv lately? Sex sells and skin gets attention, I’m with Sofia on this one, the media is to blame.
Second off, guys bathing suits are skimpier too.. Like those short shorts that go halfway up the thigh? Have you ever been to a beach in Florida? Half the guys are in thongs! No joke! *shutters* ewww.. I seriously doubt anyone in the 50′s would be caught dead in one of those. Maybe not all guys wear them but still.
Fashion in general has become more revealing, I think it has to do with the stupification of the masses. If everyone is too busy looking for sexual attention who has time to think about real issues??
