The Trends of the Eighties on Their Way Back
Proof that what goes around really will come around. Before you know it you’re happily spending your money on the same stuff you did twenty years ago. We all know fashion comes back around, leggings and baggy tops are just as popular today as they were twenty years ago. If the same fashions are always going to come back to haunt us, what else are we doomed to do over from twenty years ago??
Back in the eighties all the cool kids had a sodastream. Despite the fact they produced the most horrible tasting fizzy drinks everyone wanted one. There was also the mess to contend with on top of actual taste of the stuff, you’d spend days finding bits of sticky syrup everywhere. Impractical and disgusting it may have been but it certainly make the soda stream certainly made the summer months more fun. When you’re next wandering the isles of your favourite shop have a look around. You’ll notice they’ve managed to sneak back onto the shelves? Only this time they’ve have a facelift and some much needed improvements have been made to the taste.
When it comes to cartoons symbolic of the 80’s Thundercats has to be near the top of everyone’s list. The thought of several different species of big cats living together might not be very realistic but it was certainly entertaining for millions of kids? This cult TV show will forever be remembered as one of the greats of the 80’s. Hollywood has been promising to revive these kitty cats back for a while now but with funding issues these plans have been shelved.
When it comes to shows on our televisions that we all loved, every person who was born in the 80’s who owned a TV set probably still knows the following lyrics: now this is a story all about how my life got flipped turned upside down. The Fresh Prince of Bel Air gave us one of the biggest stars in Hollywood today. Proving my point perfectly, another return of an 80’s classic is making its way back to our screens at the moment. The Karate Kid remake of the 80’s classic which just so happens to star Will Smith’s son, Jaden Smith. Thus completing the circle of fashion and cults repeated.
