I can’t really tell whether or not he’s being sincere(he says a lot personal things) or if he’s making fun of the insincerity of Cosmo’s award event by giving a more thoughtful acceptance speech.

No he’s not. He wasn’t bullshitin. I’m very familiar with his humor. He wasn’t being too specific, but if anyone has been following his career or reading his blogs they understand what he meant. He was referring to how terrible the media and paparazzi have been to him in the last few years. It has changed him in a way that he didn’t expect, which is why he said “it was an accident.” Its a serious subject for him. He’s not who he thought he’d be by this time nor has the reputation he wanted.
